INSIGHT NETWORK LOGISTICS NAMES JEFF GRANDSTAFF GENERAL MANAGER OF NEW  AUTO TRANSPORTATION SUBSIDIARY

AUBURN HILLS, MI – Insight Network Logistics (INL) has named Jeffrey J. Grandstaff as its General Manager to head up the newly formed company, Insight Network Transportation (INT), effective immediately. Insight Network Logistics recently announced the formation of a new automobile transportation subsidiary, Insight Network Transportation, to provide multi-modal network transportation solutions for auto remarketers, private fleet owners, rental companies, and major holders of used auto portfolios.

“Jeff knows auto transportation and logistics,” said Roland Fortner, General Manager and CEO of Insight Network Logistics.  “He knows our technology, our people, our service partners, our capabilities and our potential to deliver tremendous value to the remarketing sector.”

Jeff Grandstaff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Capital University of Ohio. Grandstaff began his career in sales out of college and even sold new and used automobiles for a time before finding his true niche in transportation and logistics in 1986 with Ryder’s Automotive Carrier Divison, which was later acquired by the Allied Automotive Group. Over the next 20 years, Grandstaff progressed in the auto haulaway business from terminal operations supervisor in Moraine, OH, to the executive level and management of national accounts in Detroit. In 2001, Grandstaff left the motor carrier industry to join Insight Network Logistics and helped launch the new, auto-centric logistics and technology provider.

With internet sales opening up larger markets for both buyers and sellers of used automobiles, Insight Network Transportation’s mission will be to provide a greater array of cost-effective, quality transportation services to move automobiles and expand on-line selling opportunities. INT will deliver robust, on-demand transportation solutions that take the hassle out of shipping, tracking and controlling lease turnbacks and inventory while giving customers greater control and visibility of the logistics process right from their desktop or wireless PDA device.

Grandstaff and his team are already focused on providing auto remarketers with a robust and responsive nationwide, multi-modal delivery network for automobiles. Grandstaff commented, “Through our extensive access to rail and truck resources and our unparalleled electronic connectivity with automotive transporters and service providers across North America, we believe INT will help auto remarketers save money and improve residual values by enabling them to take advantage of all modes of transportation more effectively and efficiently.”  INT customers will be able to use VinVisionâ to expand their on-line sales opportunities, improve customer service and take the worries out of transporting vehicles. VinVision is a web-native application developed exclusively by Insight Network Logistics for visibility, control and management of vehicle distribution. INT will help auto remarketers make their entire turnback-to-sale process more visible, more responsive and more cost-efficient.

Insight Network Logistics - Insight Network Logistics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation, with primary operations based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA.  INL was formed in 2001 through collaboration between DaimlerChrysler Corporation and Union Pacific Corporation to deliver total visibility and greater control of the automotive distribution process from plant to dealer.  INL functions as an auto-centric provider of logistics services and on-demand technology like VinVisionâ.  INL currently operates as a lead logistics provider for DaimlerChrysler Corporation, providing management services, control and visibility of nearly 3 million Chrysler Group vehicles distributed annually across North American.

Insight Network Transportation – INT was formed in May of 2006 as a subsidiary of INL in response to the growing logistics needs of the auto remarketing industry.  INL launched Insight Network Transportation (INT) to expand its portfolio of auto logistics services and capabilities and to offer advanced logistic solutions to auto remarketers.
